Technology Nudging the Self-Organisation of Society (2010)

Technology Nudging the Self-Organisation of Society from DanFS on Vimeo.

Description

An animated map to show how linking together the small-scale technological systems surrounding us (central-heating, cars, kitchen-timers etc.) can encourage larger-scale cooperative behaviour to emerge. The feedback through these systems can be gently tuned to nudge our actions, facilitating the development of a bigger-society. Applied to traffic, the dynamic environment would trigger a complex series of events resulting in the subconscious nudging of drivers towards an optimal speed and root, making sat-navs and traffic lights obsolete.
